Yes. It's an old boy cronie partisan institution which guarantees work for life regardless of abilities. It is excessive compensation for a mediocre sloth work ethic, and it guarantees that no matter what, this person cannot be fired. The mere abuse of "tenure" over the decades is enough to demand it's repeal. It was permanent membership in the Teachers old boy network. No other profession provides this level of protection for it's individual union member. Tenure is granted based on partisan politics and not on the skills of the teacher.
