That's right. There should be no freedom of speech in America because it might influence a Norwegian nut case to go out and do something violent and horrific against his own Norwegians to let them know he's upset with Muslim migration. This guy is a sociopath with no empathy for his victims, and no rational logic behind his actions. He sees himself as the Norwegian Knight Templar leading his people to the promised land by killing some of those same people. Murdering Norwegians is not much of a recruiting tool for his cause.

This guy wanted to be well known for something, for anything. He had photo portraits made of himself before the murders so he would have pictures of himself to give all the media outlets. He's not a Christian and is not sure if he believes in God. He was not active in any religion, and doesn't seem to have much political affiliation. In other words he is a crazy lone wolf like Ted Kaczynski and Timothy McVeigh. Portions of his manifesto are taken word for word from Unibomber's manifesto. This guy was not living in reality, and therefore reality doesn't have that much impact on his life. It's his own irrational thoughts, paranoia, fears, anger, crusader Knight Templar fantasy, and delusions that determines what he does. He could care less about the opinions of others. Who's to say what influences someone like him to do anything? This guy is going to be declared completely insane, just like Ted Kaczynski.

The Oslo attack is very similar to the Fort Hood shootings by Nidal Malik Hasan. He also had delusions of grandeur by putting "SoA" (Soldier of Allah) on his military business cards. Both chose a point of attack where they would have the most casualties of soldiers at Fort Hood and of Labour party young Norwegians at the island camp. Nidal Malik Hasan was a mental health professional who was supposed to help soldiers get over PTSD, etc. The signs were there but no one told the army Hasan was delusional and angry. Similarly in Norway no one thought Anders Behring Breivik was an angry delusional who was about to explode. The interesting or strange thing is that Hasan supported Muslims so he killed non-Muslims, and Breivik supported non-Muslims so he killed non-Muslums? Pretty delusional behavior if you ask me.

Once again the NY Times plays half-baked partisan politics with serious hard news and embarrasses itself. Not many professional journalists left at the NY Times.
