If revealing a top-secret CIA operation involving Iran does not merit full disclosure of sources, then what does? The journalists dirty little secret. Say whatever you want, makeup information as you please, and then state you received the information from anonymous sources. Who polices the media? The journalists thirst for prohibited information is never satiated. They report as they please not caring who gets hurt or destroyed by the information.
May I suggest that a new media group of nuevo-journalists is formed. Their entire purpose is to follow, study, and report on other journalists. They can use anonymous sources because they too are journalists. There are a lot of unsavory, embarrassing, and illegal bits of news that could be reported on the nation's media personalities and journalists. It could be a whole new industry and a journalist's nightmare.
