ABC's Amanpour Chafes Over Focus on Debt, Pushes for 'Another Stimulus' Big Spending Bill

Christian Amanpour, a delusional liberal progressive, says we should have another stimulus. The first stimulus wasted $3/4 Trillion because all they did was pass out the money but they never forced requirements on what the money should used for. Even if they forced new hires from the money, those hires would only be temporary.

I'm not sure in what school of economics Christian Amanpour studied, but just handing out money is not economically sound investment for the future. All it does is give a little immediate bump in spending that disappears quickly and nothing in the economy really changed.

One company took millions and then gave all their executives big bonuses. That didn't create jobs. Another company owed $2 Million in back taxes, but they were given $1 Million in stimulus. I think they used the million to pay $1 Million in back taxes. The companies used the stimulus money to pay debts, reward current workers with bonus, for long term investment, pay their back taxes, purchase new equipment that is more efficient requiring less employees, remodeling offices, upgrading IT equipment, and for marketing campaigns. None of these uses of stimulus created jobs because no where was it stipulated that companies must hire more workers with the money. Virtually all companies in this stagnant environment is afraid of making new hires. Between Obamacare and other economic worries hiring more employees at this time doesn't make much sense when business is off.

Another issue is that if the stimulus money was used only to hire new workers, once the stimulus money ran out, then all those new hire jobs would evaporate anyway. So the stimulus as implemented by the Obama administration in the best case would increase hires and then lose those same hires when the money ran out. It is not a long term solution to the stagnant economy. It was a quick fix that fixed nothing. Our situation is the same as it was before the stimulus except we threw away $ 3/4 Trillion dollars.
