Impressively successful tests performed. The Maritime Laser Demonstration program will create a laser gun capable of targeting moving boats, unmanned aircraft, and even incoming missiles. It is a directed energy weapon that will most likely be fitted on existing military ships very soon. In defense, the winner is always the one with the best technology. That's been true for the history of warfare. The one with the longer range bow and arrows, can always beat enemies equipped with only shorter ranges.
