Abe Lincoln Said It Best: The Founding Fathers Opposed Slavery
If in the 1800's there wasn't any slavery, then the Republican Party would never have been created. The Republican Party was created as the anti-slavery party and it's primary purpose was to abolish slavery. Abe Lincoln was their first major national candidate for president. The American people elected Abe Lincoln to get rid of slavery at any cost. Even if it meant a civil war and American states succeeding from the union and fighting each other nationwide.
