Popularity and Personality Doesn't Matter in 2012 Elections, Only Work Ethic, Leadership, And Solid Policies Should Attract Voters

In 2008 the presidential election was a popularity contest based on personality and emotions. The 2012 election, to have any chance of getting the right people elected to save this country financially or politically, has to be about logic, reformation plans, priorities, policies, and a clear vision of what needs to done in all problem areas. For example: If Medicare is not reformed it will collapse and nobody has Medicare. Changes in Medicare will impact everyone. Some more than others. But there comes a time when the needs of the nation outweigh the needs of the individual.

We are adults and as such we must make the tough decisions and choices that will rescue our nation for the future generations. I don't care what anybody says. We have it pretty good in this country and we have had it good for decades. Well now is the time we need to stop thinking of ourselves and start thinking about the future of this nation. It has nothing to do with partisan politics. Both major parties, Republican and Democrat, have gotten us into this situation because political decisions were based solely on a candidates popularity buying votes. Well everyone has been taken care of for decades, but now the whole system is about to start crumbling around us.

Some of the major issues that need to be addressed are Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Illegal Immigration, foreign war(s), Obamacare, economy, housing market, national debt, taxes, size and cost of the federal government, and foreign aid. All these items will require major reformation to make them sustainable, fraud free, efficient, and to reduce costs. These reforms will impact all Americans. There is no way around it. But we need to transform the "don't touch my Medicare" attitude to a new "please fix my Medicare" attitude.

An interview with Donald Trump on Greta Van Sustern, where Donald stated he quit running for president because he thought Republican's ideas on reforming Medicare would be a death sentence for any Republican candidate(s) in the election. That's short-sighted tunnel vision only looking at the popularity of policies. Popularity usually doesn't determine whether something is the right thing to do.

Look at the election of Obama. Before the election hundreds of pundits declared he doesn't have the required experience to be successful as president. He was elected anyway because America liked him. Well in the last few years he has been almost a complete failure at everything he decides to do. He has brought division to America instead of unity.

The purpose, effectiveness, and results of a policy is all we really should care about. The popularity contest is for the uninformed. Popularity is the attitude we can't have. There's a bigger picture then some specific entitlements for a portion of the population.

It will be a death sentence to America if the newly elected fail to fix the problems. Adults know what tough love means. Well America it's time for adult tough love to save the nation we love. Nothing comes free or easy. Saving America for us and all future generations is all that matters. It's time for loyal Americans to "put up or shut up". It's time for everyone to "man up" America. There is a lot of hard work that needs to be done.
