How the Japanese plan to turn the moon into a mirrorball: All of Earth's energy 'to be supplied by lunar ring of solar panels'

Kudos for the idea and this huge potential source of energy. 

A word of caution: any misalignments of the energy streams and the world will be like ants under a sun magnifying glass. We'd get fried in less then a second.

Also as far as I know, the United States never claimed sovereignty over the moon. That means other countries are free to improve Earth with scientific endeavors on the moon. But what happens if some one wants to put offensive or defensive weapons on the moon. Who could stop them?
