Einstein was right all along: the future is dark

Some observations from a layman: the universe's expansion is accelerating. This simple fact destroys standard physics, as the universe is not slowing down as it should. The physics problem is to explain why expansion is speeding up. Now scientists talk about dark matter or dark energy being the cause. It might very well be. But it worries me every time we have an anomaly in the physical world someone invents or discovers a new entity to explain it.These entities are often barely visible and barely detectable except by the most experienced of scientists. I don't detect any dark matter or dark energy between the Earth and any other planets or the Sun. Exactly what dark matter or dark energy is between what celestial bodies? Is it everywhere in the universe or is it only in some locations in space?
